About Yanning Wang

Yanning Wang, M.S., is a Data Management Analyst in the Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She is also a Ph.D. student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, College of Pharmacy. Her research interests include evaluating drug policy’s intended and unintended consequences and its effects on population health, understanding inappropriate prescription drug use, and studying biologics’ long-term safety for inflammatory bowel disease. She is the architect of the first publicly-available data-driven surveillance system to monitor Florida controlled substance and other drug-related outcomes. The system leverages the data visualizations to help stakeholders better understand the data’s significance, see the hidden patterns, and effectively respond to aberrant trends and clusters.
